Sprinkled With Love

Welcome to Sprinkled With Love! I started this blog in 2009 when I started taking Wilton cake decorating classes, as a way to share my decorated cakes with others. Since then my family & friends have kept me busy creating birthday cakes, wedding cakes & more. Sprinkled with love has grown to be so much more since then. Please take a look around to see what I have been up to, and remember, share some love and leave a comment!

BeadforLife Review and Upcoming Giveaway

I am so excited to share BeadforLife with you.  I received my first piece of BeadforLife jewelry in 2010 and was intrigued not only by its beauty, but with the little card that was included that shared their story.

"BeadforLife creates sustainable opportunitites for women to lift their families out of extreme poverty by connecting people worldwide in a circle of exchange that enriches everyone."-Mission Statement

BeadforLife currently works with Ugandans to sell beaded jewelry.  Each piece of jewelry is made from colourful, reycled paper that is rolled into beautiful beads.  The beads are laquered and then strung together to create bracelets, earrings, and necklaces.  BeadforLife purchases the jewelery from Beaders at Fair Trade prices and then sells the pieces via their online store and through BeadParties.  They have helped to reach a new market for the jewelry that the Beaders could not have done on their own.
Look at the amazing colours!

BeadforLife also helps women in Northern Uganda, who gather shea nuts and press them into shea butter. BeadforLife makes and sells Shea Butter Soap, Peppermint Lip Balm, Shea Nilotica and 100% All Natural Shea Butter made from these nuts.  I have used the Lip Balm and love it!
BeadforLife also provides Affordable Housing Programs, Medical Programs, Vocational Training Programs and Entrepreneurial Development Programs.  Check out their website for more information on these programs.

Some of the jewelery I was sent for my BeadParty. You will fall in love with every piece!

BeadParties are a very important part of BeadforLife, and I highly recommend them to everyone.  They are super easy to host, and a great way to help impoverished women in Uganga.  You can sign up online and it costs you nothing.  If you host a party before August 31, make sure to sign up for the special Summer Selection and the limited Etana Necklace will be included in your package.  After you sign up, a package will arrive with all of the products and promotional information that you need, including a DVD with the touching stories of some of the women from Uganda.  It is a great way to share this amazing organization with your family and friends, and includes free shipping to return the products your don't sell.

While BeadParties are great for home parties, there are so many more options.  I hosted a BeadParty and sold them at a few of my husband's hockey games.  My sister-in-law used the school curriculum and then her class hosted a BeadParty at their Spring Concert.  They sold almost every product that they received.  It was amazing how the entire town came together to support the students and their wonderful cause!  Perhaps you could sell that am a Farmer's Market or host a BeadParty through your church.  The possibilities are endless and you will feel good knowing that you are helping others.  One person CAN make a difference!

Make a Difference
Bracelets start at only $5, and Shea Butter Soap and the Peppermint Lip Balm are only $4.  All items are reasonably priced and go to a great cause.  Make a purchase online, or host a BeadParty and introduce these wonderful products to your family and friends.  Leave a comment saying that Sprinkled With Love sent you, as I would love to know how many of my readers will be sharing BeadforLife with others!
