Sprinkled With Love

Welcome to Sprinkled With Love! I started this blog in 2009 when I started taking Wilton cake decorating classes, as a way to share my decorated cakes with others. Since then my family & friends have kept me busy creating birthday cakes, wedding cakes & more. Sprinkled with love has grown to be so much more since then. Please take a look around to see what I have been up to, and remember, share some love and leave a comment!

Loaded Baked Potato Dip

I made this appetizer a while back when a bunch of us hockey wives got together.  It tastes so much like a loaded baked potato it is crazy.  Try it out, you won't be disappointed!

Loaded Baked Potato Dip
Source: Brown Eyed Baker, adapted from MyRecipes.com

Yield: About 4 cups
Prep Time: 10 minutes

16 ounces sour cream
16 slices (12-ounce package) bacon, cooked and crumbled
8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded (about 2 cups)
1/3 cup thinly sliced scallions or chives

Fry the bacon, cool and crumble.

Meanwhile, combine sour cream, cheese and chives in a medium bowl and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving to allow flavors to meld together.  Add bacon and mix together once it has cooled.

Garnish with extra shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, and chopped chives. Serve with your favorite potato chips, cracker or pretzel crisps. Dip can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Here is a picture without the garnish so you can see what it looks like.  It tastes just like a loaded baked potato.  There is no actual potato...just the chips, but the taste is great!
