Toronto, ON

As some of you may know, my husband is a hockey player, so we move a lot.  Since we got married in 2008, we have lived in Toronto, Ontario; Rockford, Illinois; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and we currently live in Norfolk, Virginia.  Each summer we return home to Alberta. 

Over the coming week, I am going to share a little about what I loved from each spot. 

I will start with our first home, Toronto, Ontario.  We lived in a condo building at Fort York Blvd, and loved it.  We had a great gym and swimming pool and check out the view from our window! 

There was lots of construction going on around us, so some of the views have proabably become obstructed since then.  To the right, you could even see Lake Ontario.  It was nice to be close to the lake, with lots of trails for walking and biking. 

It was also great to be close to the Ricoh center, where the Toronto Marlies play.  It was very convienient to be able to walk to the games, and I felt safe walking in this area on my own.  There was also a Streetcar station right outside our building that went to the Ricoh, and many other locations across the city.  It was very convienient to take the Streetcar downtown to connect with the Subway too.

There is so much to do in Toronto!  I want to share a few of my favourites with you.

1. Take a walk along the lake.  The views are great and it is so relaxing!
2. Visit the CN Tower.  The views are amazing
3. Enjoy a baseball game at the Roger's Center.  Toronto was playing host to a round of the World Classic Baseball Tournament when we were there and it was so much fun!
4. Take a tour of Casa Loma.  This place is amazing!  If you enjoy history or architecture, you will love this place. 
5. Take in a hockey game, either the Toronto Maple Leafs or the Marlies. 
6. Enjoy a Raptors basketball game.
7. We were lucky to get to see a taping of So You Think You Can Dance Canada.  There are lots of other shows filmed in Toronto, so check out what tickets you can get while you are there!
8. Visit Much Music, and take in a concert.
9. Check out the Hockey Hall of Fame.  If you love hockey, then this is a must.  You can even get your picture taken with the Stanley Cup!
10. Go shopping.  Make sure to check out the Eaton Center and all of the shops on Queen Street. 
11. Eat out at some amazing restaurants!
12. Finally, no trip to Toronto is complete without a trip to Niagara Falls.  Trust me when I say it is amazing and definately worth the drive!

Of course, it is always important to surround yourself with amazing friends, and there were so many great ladies that were a part of the Toronto Marlies organization while I was there.  Miss you ladies!

Oh Toronto, how I miss you! Thanks for the memories!
